Introduction:
Take your classic BLT to the next level with this BBQ Bacon Ranch twist. The smoky richness of BBQ sauce pairs perfectly with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, and a creamy ranch dressing spread. Add a toasted bun or sourdough bread, and you’ve got yourself a sandwich that’s anything but ordinary.
Ingredients (Makes 2 sandwiches):
For the Sandwich:
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon
- 4 slices fresh tomato
- 4 leaves crisp romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 4 slices of toasted sourdough bread or brioche buns
- 2 tablespoons ranch dressing
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce (your favorite variety)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for toasting bread)
- Optional: sliced avocado or red onion
Instructions & Method:
Step 1: Cook the Bacon
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Lay bacon slices in the pan and cook until crispy, about 4–6 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Step 2: Toast the Bread
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- In the same skillet (wiped clean), toast the bread slices buttered-side down until golden brown and crisp. This adds extra flavor and crunch.
Step 3: Prepare the Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix the ranch dressing and BBQ sauce together. This becomes your signature sandwich spread.
Step 4: Assemble the Sandwich
- Spread a generous layer of BBQ ranch sauce on the inside of each bread slice.
- Layer lettuce, tomato slices, and bacon.
- Add optional toppings like sliced avocado or red onion if desired.
- Top with the second slice of bread.
Step 5: Serve
- Slice the sandwich in half, serve with chips, fries, or a pickle on the side.
